stone marimba : ウィキペディア英語版 | stone marimba
The stone marimba is a musical instrument in the percussion family. It is a mallet percussion instrument arranged chromatically, but has bars made of stone, unlike the more typical wooden bar marimba. Because it is made out of rock, it is classified as a lithophone. The bars are usually wide like a wooden marimba, but are thinner and flat, which helps increase resonance. The stone marimba may or may not have resonators, however. A stone marimba housed at the Musée de l'Homme is possibly the oldest-known musical instrument on the planet. == See also ==
